Paul Theroux Fans,
Aloha! As fans of Paul Theroux I thought you would be interested in knowing that he has thrown his considerable literary weight behind a relatively unknown writer in Hawaii who has a new book out: Me. I'm Charles Memminger, a national award-winning humor columnist and screenwriter with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. Mr. Theroux, who lives in Hawaii most of the year and apparently enjoys my writing agreed to writer the front cover blurb for my new book, "Hey, Waiter, There's An Umbrella In My Drink!".
He Blackberried the following blurb from Sri Lanka, during his travels last year. "When laughter erupts anywhere from Midway Island to South Point on the Hawaiian chain on any given day the cause is likely to be one of Memminger's columns." It is an honor to have Mr. Theroux's support, especially knowing that he doesn't hand out such kudos to other authors lightly. We also were lucky enough to receive some other national support, including a blurb from Esquire magazine editor-at-large A.J. Jacobs, author of the book "The Know-It-All" and a foreword by Wally "Famous" Amos, the Cookie Man. We are hoping that getting such high-powered support will help spur sales of "Hey, Waiter, There's An Umbrella In My Drink!" on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.
Aloha,
Charles Memminger
